Pelvic Physiotherapy
Pelvic floor physical therapy (PFPT) is a specialty area where the physiotherapist focuses on the rehabilitation of muscles in the pelvic floor after injury or dysfunction. Medical conditions that can be treated, include muscle weakness or tightness post-childbirth, dyspareunia,( difficult or painful sexual intercourse), vaginismus, vulvodynia, constipation, fecal or urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and sexual dysfunction. A registered physiotherapist with specialized training in the area will examine and treat patients with these conditions.
